Another day goes by and the card still has yet to arrive. Now, I know this probably isn’t most exciting thing I could be writing about, or apparently repeating daily, but getting the card tomorrow at the very latest will mean I can place the order for the MacBook to be delivered on Friday. This will allow me the weekend to transfer my files across and wipe the hard drive of the computer I’ll be giving to me mother, thus enabling me to take the PC with me when I go to visit next weekend. So I do have a reason for my constant complaining about my credit card not having arrived!

Addendum: I’ve had a phone call from Virgin to tell me the card should arrive two or three days after the PIN number. Which means tomorrow. Or Friday. So fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Those dastardly people over at Virgin played a horrible trick on me. Knowing full-well that I was (not so) patiently waiting to take delivery of my new credit card, I got home this lunchtime to discover a letter on the doormat, emblazoned with their very logo. With delight in my eyes I picked it up, and immediately noticed it was a bit too bendy to be what I was expecting.

It was the bloody PIN number. I don’t want the PIN number! I don’t need the PIN number! I just want the damn card so I can order my MacBook online! Damn them all!

So now it’s going to be at least Thursday before I get my hands on a shiny new toy. Of course that all depends on whether the thing turns up tomorrow. And even if it does, I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that the shop will have sold out by then. Of course, I have no idea whether that’s going to be the case or not, but it’s just my luck! At any rate I must have this new computer by the weekend or I lose the bet with the landlord!

It’s been a bit of an odd day so far. Firstly I actually put some effort in at the gym, which is extremely odd for me! I’ve decided to really try going for it now. There was quite a spell where I used the machines and lost quite a bit of weight. Unfortunately over the last month (or possibly more) I’ve not really been giving it my best shot. Most weeks I’ve not been going to the gym properly at all; just turning up for a shower and a coffee! Not really worth it when you consider I’m paying £40 a month for the privilege!

Anyway, that was then and this is now. I’m making a proper go of it again. At least, I want to. My plan is to be a normal, fit member of society by next summer. I don’t have any particular reason for having chosen the summer, but I think it gives me plenty of time if I really put my mind to it.

After the gym it was off to work. At least I thought it was. I arrived only to be turned away, because once more the building is flooded. The last time this happened it was because the insurance company who occupy the third floor left a faulty dishwasher running all weekend. As far as I’m aware they still haven’t paid up for that one. God help them if they were the cause of this mess too. Actually, knowing my place they’ll just let it slide again, like they do most things.

So now I have another day to fill. I had enough trouble occupying myself over the weekend! I was looking forward to a new credit card arriving so that I could go out and buy myself a shiny new MacBook, but alas it hasn’t turned up. Never mind; there’s always tomorrow.

Time to have a read I think, and to try to avoid this fella for the rest of the day. He does insist on covering me in hair!
