For your viewing pleasure, I’ve added some photos of both my trip to Scotland and the little visit me and @Glitterboots took to Elvaston Castle.

So we have Scotland:

And we have Elvaston Castle:

Enjoy!

I’ve gone a couple of days without making a post. My mind has been completely blank to be honest and I’ve not really had anything to say! So I figured I’d just write about what I’ve been up to rather than anything specific. I know you’re all excited by this prospect!

Well, Friday was the team Christmas lunch followed in the evening by the office Christmas party. So it was a long day. Especially as I’d got up at my normal time of 5:30 to visit the gym. The lunch was very nice, if a little minimal. So by the time two of us had left for a pre-party pub visit I was hungry once more. A plate of cheesy-chips soon got rid of that!

Then it was off to the party at the Star Rowing Club which wasn’t too bad either. Although completely unlike me, I stay right until the end. Didn’t get too drunk, but just nicely inebriated. Not really much else to talk about to be honest. No real scandals or bribery opportunities. And as it was away from the office, there were no photocopier incidents either!

The rest of the weekend was taken up with a drive back home up the M1, and then a fair bit of sitting around waiting for things to happen. Turns out if you just sit around then not much happens at all!

I did take a trip into town this morning to buy some cards and for one last visit to Woolies. The shelves are almost completely bare so I wouldn’t recommend anyone makes the trip for last-minute bargains; they’ve all gone.

I’ve been pondering over the shots I took in Derby on Sunday, and I don’t think there are any I would consider adding to the site. They were all too noisy, or the composition was off, or the subject was simply not interesting enough.

I’ll take another look at some point to see if there is anything that can be rescued, but I don’t think there will be.

I don’t think I got much this morning. It kept drizzling and I went out when it was still a bit too dark. So I had to crank up the ISO to 800 and even 1600 for a few of the shots, so they’re going to come out ridiculously noisy. I haven’t checked yet, but I imagine I’ll be throwing out most of them. I’m not holding out much hope of getting anything worth putting on here, but I guess if I got one good shot then it was worth it. Just don’t hold your breath.

I’m still hoping that my photo excursion into town won’t be rained off, even though looking outside you’d imagine it was here for the day. I shall get ready, head out and sit in the car until it seems as though it’s eased off.

Still pretty disappointing, though I guess with the luck I’ve already had at the end of this week with photos it was to be expected.
